Young Historians

The Historical Society of the Somerset Hills (THSSH) is always looking for young historians who want to learn about history and who also want to build their skills to prepare them for the future.  The Young Historians program is a fun, interactive learning experience for our areas youth.  THSSH Young Historians receive a free one-year student membership to THSSH. THSSH is a great place to get your 25-hour high school volunteer community service hours – you can do it all in one place, for one organization, and keep it simple. Students will be involved in projects that cover genealogy, American history, and architectural history.  THSSH continues to build new programs, and expand our collection of materials in order to be suitable for students of all ages. The Young Historians meet at the Brick Academy located in the center of Basking Ridge, New Jersey.  The historic,1809 Federal-style building had been a boys’ private preparatory school, a public school, a meeting hall for several fraternal and benevolent organizations, and the Bernards Township municipal building. It currently serves as the headquarters of The Historical Society of the Somerset Hills. THSSH has many opportunities for young historians in the Somerset Hills.  To get involved, simply Contact Us.
