The Historical Society of the Somerset Hills is pleased to welcome Meg Wastie of Bernards Township, New Jersey to the Board of Trustees.
Meg Wastie

The THSSH is pleased to introduce Meg Wastie to the Board of Trustees at The Historical Society of the Somerset Hills. Meg has spent most of her life in New Jersey and loves the beauty and history of the state. She grew up in Westfield and currently lives in the Basking Ridge section of Bernards Township.
With an undergraduate degree from Monmouth University, Meg also has Masters Degrees from Kean University in Student Personal Services and Seton Hall University in Museum Professions. Meg was an English, speech & theatre teacher at Columbia High School in Maplewood/South Orange for 32 years before retiring to start her new career in the museum field.
Meg is currently the Curator of Education at the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts in Madison, New Jersey. Using her years of experience as an English teacher, Meg has re-vamped, re-organized and re-designed the METC Museum’s existing school programs. She has also created a number of new and innovative history-based programs that are both entertaining as well as educational, and has adapted many of them for audiences of all ages, including young children and senior citizens.
Beyond working at the METC, Meg offers ACT, SAT, and college essay help for students in high school. She is an adjunct professor at Drew University, supervising & observing student teachers, and taught Writing for Museums, a course she created for graduate students in the Museum Professions program at Seton Hall University. She also volunteers at Somerset Hills Adult Day Center and is an active member of the Seton Hall Choir.
Meg will be a member of the THSSH Education Committee as well as other community outreach volunteer efforts.
