The Historical Society of the Somerset Hills (THSSH) recently attended both the Somerset Hills Education Foundation (SHEF) Summer Job Fair at Bernards High and the Community Service Fair at Ridge High. Both events were the first of their kind at each school.

The Summer Job Fair at Bernards was held March 5 in the Media Center with the goal of connecting students to potential employers and volunteer opportunities.

The Ridge High Community Service Fair was held April 22 also in the Media Center. The aim was to introduce students to the many volunteer opportunities in the area and to the skills and knowledge that local organizations like THSSH can provide.

THSSH representatives talked to the students about joining our Archive Team, which scans and catalogs documents from our extensive collections; authoring short articles for the THSSH Blog and website; oral history and video projects; and learning to conduct tours at the Brick Academy.
