More than 120 guests attended The Historical Society’s first “Afternoon Tea” benefit on Sunday, April 14, 2024. Hosted by Fox News Chief Executive Officer Suzanne Scott and her family at their Bernardsville estate, guests experienced a delightful traditional Afternoon Tea in the beautiful gardens and manicured lawns of Little Thoresby.

This charming historic home, built in 1929 by Ellen Low Pierrepont Moffat and named after Thoresby Hall in Nottinghamshire, England, is a true gem. With its unique handmade brick construction and lush gardens, Little Thoresby exudes the elegance of a bygone romantic era.

Donned in their loveliest ‘Afternoon Tea attire,’ including hats and fascinators fit for Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby, guests indulged in tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, dainty cakes, and flavorful pots of tea while a tea expert and historian shared fascinating insights into the history and art of tea.
