THHSH is again participating in the 1770s Festival hosted by the Somerset County Park Commission.  This year’s event will be held Sunday October 6, 2024, 11:30am to 4pm at Lord Stirling Park off Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge.   This family-friendly event features reenactors and demonstrations of colonial arts and crafts.

Note: This event is hosted by Somerset County.  All questions should be directed to them at 908-722-1200, ext. 5002.

The park is on the site of Lord Stirling’s 18th-century mansion, and visitors have the opportunity to tour the mansion’s existing cellars.   The site also contains the ruins of two 1840s brick farm buildings.

The society’s welcome booth will feature free literature on the history of the Somerset Hills, local artifacts, and an informative staff.   Please stop by and chat!
