Capt. William Leslie Commemoration

PLUCKEMIN, NJ–The Daughters of the British Empire (DBE) in New Jersey held their annual Remembrance Day ceremony today at the gravesite of Captain William Leslie in the Presbyterian churchyard.  Leslie was a British officer who was mortally wounded during the Battle of Princeton on January 3, 1777.  He was found and tended to by American forces, but died during the American advance toward Morristown.  The group has been remembering Captain Leslie at Pluckemin for almost 40 years.
